Synchronous Fireflies: DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED MID APRIL
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is home to the annual end of May – early June synchronous firefly gathering that offers a phenomenal light show in the Elkmont campground area of the park. The only way to enter Elkmont is via the National Park shuttle service with advance ticket purchase.

1-3: Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge Car Show & Swap Meet – If you love classic Pontiacs—Firebirds, Fieros, GTOs and Lemans to name a few—you don’t want to miss this car show now it’s 18th year. Arnie “The Farmer” Bestwick is our special guest! Cars will be on display along with a vendor shop meet, competition and Saturday night cruise all at Music Road Hotel Convention Center. 1-10: Dollywood Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival – Only four days remain of the 10-day Bluegrass music festival at Dollywood TN featuring hundreds of free concerts performed by top names in Bluegrass and smokin’ southern BBQ! Visit Market Square for delicious BBQ favorites. Performers include Blue Highway, Darrell Webb Band, Flatt Lonesome, Fireside Collective, NewTown, and so many others. Park your vehicle at Patriot Park near the Old Mill or right here in the Pigeon Forge Convention Center parking lot and ride the trolley!  Dollywood.com

1-December 31: Lego Display – The World’s Largest Titanic Model created by a 12-year old boy and made entirely with LEGO® BRICKS will be on display through the end of the year at Titanic Museum.

2: National Trails Day – Today is the day to get out and enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Nationwide, parks are celebrating Trails Day, hoping to bring awareness of and enjoyment through hiking in your local park. Search for Trails Day events taking place in the Smokies and near you. 2: Alcatraz East 1st Annual Graffiti Art Contest – Watch artists compete in the crime of vandalism to earn bragging rights and cash prizes. Event is 6 a.m.-Noon. (Artists must submit sample art and application by May 16th.)

2: 20th Anniversary Relay for Life Event – Join the volunteers of Relay For Life of Sevier County as they celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers, and the team’s 20th anniversary. Help them raise money to end cancer. Downtown Sevierville, 125 Court Avenue. Noon-11:30 p.m.

2: Picnic Wine Trail – This is a picnic in the Smokies like no other! This summer event includes three stops along the trail to enjoy one glass of wine from a choice of two offerings, much loved picnic foods, and a commemorative glass tumbler. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

2, 9, 16, 23, 30: Gatlinburg Farmers Market – Shop our local farmer’s market for locally grown fruit and veggies, and locally made good stuff in the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community at the Covered Bridge on Glades Road. 16: Wears Valley Ranch Artisan Craft Sale – Mountain music, food and local craftsmanship come together for a great event in support of Wears Valley Ranch. Rain or shine 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

16-August 15: Free Parkway Trolley – Nearly nine weeks of free trolley rides! If you love to walk, shop and dine in downtown Gatlinburg, take advantage of free trolley service that allows you to get on and off as often as you’d like between traffic lights #1 and #10. Trolley runs from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. every day.

16-August 5: Dollywood’s Summer Celebration – New Show-Stopping entertainment including Drumline Live, iLuminate, and Paint Jam! Celebrate your all-American love of family, food and fun at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. Park is open longer – 10 a.m.-10 p.m. – for a full 12 hours of thrill rides, live entertainment, and great summer foods at onsite restaurants from. Be sure to stick around for Dolly’s Nights of Many Colors fireworks show every night at 9:30 p.m. Dollywood.com.

17: Happy Father’s Day! Treat Dad to a special getaway in the Smokies for a Father’s Day he’ll never forget. He can go fishing, golf, ride go-karts and mountain coasters, or just kick back and relax. Every day is great in the Smokies, and Dad’s Day makes it even more special.

21: First Day of Summer! We hope you’ll make the most of your summer by doing things that fuel your soul!

22-August 11: Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales – More performance dates! Your family will love the street performances taking place each night along the strip in downtown Gatlinburg. Beginning at 6 p.m. each evening, you’ll find musicians, cloggers, storytellers and singers hitting the streets to perform for you each night through August 11! We love our Appalachian roots and this is a great event to introduce Gatlinburg fans to traditional entertainment.

23: Jimmy Fortune & T. Graham Brown Concert – First Class Concerts welcomes Jimmy Fortune & T. Graham Brown back to Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge for an 8 p.m. show.
