The Tennessee Smoky Mountain Jeep Club will be hosting the 2016 Jeep Invasion August 27th & 28th at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge. Thousands of Jeeps, Jeep enthusiasts, and Jeep paraphernalia vendors will descend on the area for an extravaganza of all things Jeep.

Last year, authorities estimated an attendance of approximately 2,500 Jeeps. The event’s promoters are hoping to top 3,000 this year, and with more parking available there will be room for that and more . Bring your own prized Jeep or just walk the aisles admiring everyone else’s rides. You’re almost guaranteed to see something you’ve never seen before.

And it’s not just the Jeeps themselves that make the Invasion a great event. The Pigeon Forge Convention Center will also be filled with vendors specializing in performance, accessories, audio, off-road and road adventure, suspension, replacement parts, even Jeep-themed jewelry (a huge hit at last year’s Invasion).

2016 Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion Cades Cove Cruise

Cruise Cades Cove Jeep Ride

No Invasion would be complete, of course, without a Jeep show.  The show will feature a maximum of 75 entries and awards trophies for 1st Place, 2nd Place and Best of Show, goodie bags and other prizes.  This year’s Jeep Show will be followed with a Sunday morning ride in the form of a Jeep Cruise through Cades Cove.

All those Jeep owners and enthusiasts will need some after hours dinner and downtime, and the Island in Pigeon Forge is just a stroll away.  No need even to drive off road to get there! Eat a hearty meal at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, Margaritaville, Mellow Mushroom, Timberwood Grill (free appetizer coupon!) , or Dick’s Last Resort. Or enjoy a snack from Poynor’s Pommes Frites (serving up brats and fries), Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, or Cinnabon. If it’s hot and your sweet tooth calls, enjoy some ice cream at The Island Creamery or frozen yogurt from Island Yogurt.

One great thing about Jeeps is their ability to get you anywhere you want to go. Book a cabin up a winding mountain road and enjoy the ride to and from the invasion. Happy Jeeping!
